Nuclear Weapons, "Global Peacemakers" or Killing Devices?
Since the invention of nuclear weapons we have had a long period of global peace and stability. Are nuclear weapons global peacemakers or killing devices? 1945. The year in which the most powerful and the most destructive weapon in the world was invented. The Nuclear Bomb. It was the year in which USA tested its first nuclear bomb and then soon after dropped two atomic bombs on Japan. However, since the World War II, we have had 72 years of so-called “global peace”. It is the peace where two nations have not been at war due to the fear of being completely wiped out, as they both possess the ultimate weapon of destruction. They have sheathed their swords and unloaded their guns because the threat of nuclear weapons is hanging over their heads like a dangling knife.
